The quest in Liverpool, for a Memorial to honour those enslaved during the transatlantic slave trade
There can be no more fitting time, for the creation of Britain’s first international Memorial to honour those enslaved during the transatlantic slave trade. A new concept of a ‘Living Memorial’ is required, which highlights the plight of those enslaved – to promote learning from the past – so we can acknowledge the reality of slavery today and commit to a future in which inequality and slavery in all its forms, cannot exist.
